Gary has
orchestrated and / or conducted items for the
1997, 1998 and 2004 Royal Variety Performances
for BBC television and LWT respectively.
He has composed music idents for television,
radio and trade shows, including Eurosport,
British Airways, Olympus Keymed and Sky
Sports.
For Carlton television, he has composed and/or
performed music for A Class Act, Peak Practice
and The Bill. Other Television credits
include arranging and/or appearances on Lily
Live, Wogan, Blue Peter, Afternoon
Live, Live at 3, Capital Woman, Good Stuff,
Rock with Laughter, An Evening with Lily Savage
and Pebble Mill.
For Qdos Entertainment, Gary has composed the
following scores (music and lyrics) for the
Theatre Royal in Newcastle: Robin Hood (2010),
Sleeping Beauty (2011) and Aladdin (2012). Gary has also been Qdos Entertainment’s Musical
Supervisor and Arranger for the last 19 years,
where he has worked extensively with many
leading television artistes, including John
Barrowman, Lee Mead, Julian Clary, Joan Collins,
Brian Conley, Matthew Kelly, Bradley Walsh, Lily
Savage, David Essex, Bobby Davro, Melinda
Messenger, Joe Pasquale, Lisa Riley, Russ
Abbott, Paul Nicholas, Lesley Joseph, Gary
Wilmot, Shane Richie Melinda Messenger and even
Frank Bruno! (amongst countless
others). Qdos Entertainment are the country’s
leading producer of Christmas shows/pantomimes
and have been for over 25 years.
Gary is the Managing Director of, and also
co-ordinates - GhMusic Ltd, which has been
responsible for providing music services,
musicians, keyboard programming and/or equipment
to: Tell me on a Sunday, Thoroughly Modern
Millie, Too Close to the Sun, Behind the Iron
Mask, Jolson and Co., Peggy Sue got Married,
Annie, Bye Bye Birdie, The Pirates of Penzance,
(and UK tour), Jolson, The Goodbye Girl,
(and UK tour) and A Swell Party. (plus
subsequent film version). Lock up your
daughters, Elvis 2000 (UK Arena tour), Chita
Rivera in concert, Buddy (West End and tours),
Happy Days (UK tour), The concert they never
gave and Strictly Ballroom Dancing (UK tours).
Boogie Nights (UK tour), Russell Watson in
Concert (UK Arena tour 2005 and Lincoln Castle).
Gary visited Venezuela in 2008, where he
orchestrated and produced for CD a symphonic
recording of selected Queen tracks featuring
Carlos Bonell (Classical Guitarist), an 84 piece
orchestra and an 80 piece choir – Queen Guitar
Rhapsodies. He is looking forward to the whole
concept being developed into a concert version,
which will tour the major concert halls and
opera houses of the world starting in 2013.
Gary is also looking forward to the hopeful
development and success of Bloodbath – The
Musical - a brand new musical written by the
BAFTA award winning director - Tony McHale. It
received great feedback at the Edinburgh
festival. Gary was its Musical Supervisor,
Arranger and the Orchestral Manager of the
project.
